23 Point Furnace Inspection

Perform Furnace Inspection during Maintenance tune up (see checklist)

Check for proper milli-volt output of thermocouple
Tighten and clean thermocouple connections
Check setting of pilot (if the furnace doesn’t have electronic ignition). Flame should be high enough to generate current through thermocouple
Tighten all gas connections. Check for leaks

JP Poirier was phenomenal. He was patient to explain step by step as he diagnosed the problem with my furnace, professional demeanor, and was meticulous with keeping the area tidy during and after the service appointment. The communication is great as well because the receptionist when you call to book service is so bubbly and nice, and they send text messages when your technician is on the way. I ended up signing up under their maintenance plan due to the pleasant experience I had and the price point is 👌

I began using Francis fuels because of their thorough and efficient maintenance of my furnace and to receive objective advice on the condition of my equipment. I found Francis’ inspections and cleaning to be more detailed than using either of the major providers, who will simply conduct a quick and cursory check and no longer seem to own a vacuum. While I still pay for a furnace and AC protection plan with one of the main service providers, I prefer to have a third party like Francis to assess my equipment. In my experience I found it to be a bit of a conflict of interest for a company to do both, in fact, I had one company tell me during a maintenance inspection that I needed a new furnace and were ready to shut it down, unless I purchased a new one from them…. When I obtained a second opinion, it only needed a small adjustment. The furnace worked for years after that adjustment. While I still maintain a critical and wary eye on the opinions I receive from contractors, Francis has never given me cause to doubt their objectivity and their integrity. I continue to use Francis fuels and will sign up again this year for their Gold maintenance plan.
